Homer Has a New Home

June 2008

Homer has been moved to his "forever home." He was moved on Sunday, June 1st. He went to a nice home of a lady who will spoil him rotten. This lady currently has a potbellied pig and wanted a "friend" for her existing potbellied pig. The lady recently had an older potbellied pig that passed away, so she knows all about potbellied pigs, what they need and what they like. Here is the report from Kelley, who transported Homer to his new home:

"Homer arrived safe and sound to his new home in Newport Beach. He has his own little area outside the office door with grass and shade and he has his pick of five doggie beds. He walked out of the carrier - walked right into her office and checked it all out. Then he walked down the hallway and checked out the rest of the house and went into her bedroom and decided he liked this bed the best. We let him take a short nap while we did her other pig Wilber's hooves, then woke him up and herded him back to his area. Sharon wants him to get settled before meeting all the dogs and Wilber. Sharon called me last night to tell me that he ate his dinner and went back to sleep. He did wake up and was a little disoriented, so she sat next to him and petted him until he went back to asleep. I will keep you posted. ~ Kelley"

A BIG THANK YOU TO KELLEY, ROSALINDE, SUEY, DR. KANFER, CORNELIA, AND NOW SHARON, WHO HAS CARED SO MUCH FOR HOMER'S PROGRESS SINCE HE WAS RESCUED. AND TO ALL OF HOMER'S DONORS--WE COULD NOT HAVE PAID OFF HOMER'S VET BILL WITHOUT YOU!!! Homer will have a few future medical expenses, such as final x-rays to make sure his lungs are back to full functioning capacity, etc. We will update you when he has those x-rays. Thanks for taking time to read and care about Homer. He is one special sweet piggy, for sure!! ~ Peggy

Here are photos of Homer in his new digs. As you can see, he made himself right at "home!"
